The market launch of the Mustang had been planned for a long time and was an absolute novelty in the automotive industry. In the spring of 1964 “unauthorized” photos reached the press by “chance”.
An information leak here and there was enough to bring the new model into the public’s attention in advance. On the evening of the first day of sales, the completely exhausted dealers had 22,000 firm orders on hand!
The car became a classic right from the start and is today the epitome of the American sports car. With its silky soft and husky V8 engine in combination with its American chassis, it still embodies the flair of cruising on a Californian highway. This Mustang is a very early Austrian first delivery!
It was registered for the first time in 1965 in Carinthia with rare 4-speed gears and electric soft top. Hertz Classics is only the third owner of this Mustang, which never left Austria except for a few excursions.
