While the TR-2, TR-3 and TR-3a series still corresponded entirely to the conventional British sports car, the successor from 1961 broke new ground.

The TR-4 was not only a better equipped and sportier vehicle than its predecessors, but also differed in its versatility.

The special features of the body designed by Giovanni Michelotti in Italy included crank windows and effective ventilation in the interior. However, due to its engine noise and hard chassis, the TR-4 is not suitable for delicate natures.
